The term cellulite is used to describe the abnormal accumulation of fat in the skin. Cellulite can be found anywhere, but most commonly it appears on the thighs, buttocks, hips and abdomen. The reason why the condition develops is due to the fact that the skin has an excess of fat cells. These fat cells do not move with the skin, therefore they appear lumpy and give the skin a bumpy appearance. Cellulite can also develop on other parts of the body such as the face, neck, upper arms and breasts.
There is no known cause for cellulite, however it is believed that the excessive accumulation of fat cells is a result of the body’s inability to burn off the fat. It is also believed that this condition is inherited. Some people have a genetic predisposition towards cellulite. The condition is more common in women than men, especially after puberty. There is no cure for cellulite, but there are many ways to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Cellulite creams are available in many pharmacies and department stores. These creams contain various ingredients such as hydroxy acids, retinol, niacinamide, vitamin E, green tea extracts and soybean oil. They all work by increasing the metabolism of the skin, thus reducing the amount of fat cells. These creams usually come in a gel form and should be applied once or twice daily depending on how much cellulite you want to reduce. However, these creams only work on the surface of the skin and do not penetrate deep into the layers of the skin. Therefore, the effects of the cream will wear off within a few days if used regularly.
Another method of cellulite treatment is through diet and exercise. The first step is to make sure that you are eating healthy foods. A healthy diet consists of low fat dairy products, whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and fish. Avoid fried and fatty foods and drink lots of water throughout the day. This will help you lose weight and flush out toxins from your body. The second step is to perform regular aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise increases the blood flow to the areas of the body where cellulite is present. This in turn will help flush out toxins from the skin. The third step is to apply a cellulite reducer cream to the affected area.
These are the main steps in getting rid of cellulite. If you follow these steps, you will notice a significant difference in the appearance of cellulite in a short period of time.
